グレイトフル・デッドのTシャツはヴィンテージミュージックTの黎明期から存在していたことは田中倫太郎氏のMy Freedomn!4で実証されていて、当然知名度や人気の高さからTシャツの価格も高い水準を保ち続けています。
どの年代のTシャツも違った魅力があり、それこそ数年前までは90年代＝安いという図式でしたが、もはやその業界内の常識はとうに覆されており、下手したら80年代より90年代のTシャツが高価なんてことも、もはや当たり前の時代です。
やっかいなのが、ヴィンテージに限ったことではありませんが、過去の価値観に縛られ続けること。
今でこそ90年代以降のTシャツに数万円の価値が付与されるのも珍しいことではありませんが、そのことを受け入れられずにウダウダ文句ばかり垂れるのは愚の骨頂です。
自分自身も某キャラクターものの90年代のTシャツに数十万円の価値が付いていることは信じ難く、すっと受け入れられるほどの器も持ち合わせていませんでしたが、トレンドを見ていくと、感覚的ではありますが、その事象に対しての理解はできます。
視野を広げると、そもそも物価は上昇していますし、トレンドの移り変わりというものがあります。
自分の信念を曲げる必要はありませんが、変化を柔軟に受け入れ、むしろ自ら率先して変化を受け入れていく、学んでいく姿勢を持っていれば自分の芯を曲げることなく新たな発見もあって、自分自身をアップデートできるものと考えます。

It’s hard for me to believe that a 90’s T-shirt with a certain character is worth several hundred thousand yen, and I don’t have the capacity to accept it easily, but when I look at the trends, I can understand the phenomenon, although it’s only a feeling.
However, when I look at the trends, I can understand what is happening, even if it is just a feeling. If I broaden my perspective, I can see that prices are rising and trends change.
