フランク・ザッパのTシャツはブーム時からコレクティブルでセレブ性も高かったため、当時から高額で流通していました。
また、バイヤー間の仕入れ競争も激しかったため、ショップ勤務時代には実物を目にすることはありませんでした。
フランク・ザッパのTシャツを手にしたのは、自らがオンラインショップを立ち上げた後のこととなりましたが、手にできた時の喜びは言葉で言い表せないものがありましたね。
仕入れを続ける中で、これまで幸運にも5、6パターン程手元にやってきましたが、どのデザインも他アーティストを卓越したデザイン力とオーラがあります。
恐らくザッパのTシャツを手にしたときの自分の表情は、他者が見たら気持ち悪いと思われるほど恍惚の表情でいたと思います。
なぜ、ここまでザッパのTシャツに惹かれるのかを考えた時に、親近感が持てるからであると考えます。
親しみやすいデザインと感じられるのは、バックプリントのPumpkin Record’sのデザインからです。
可愛らしく愛嬌のあるデザインが取り入れられることは、ある意味隙のなさを感じさせないハズシのようにも思え、自分自身とTシャツの距離感を縮めてくれます。
このようなことをまとめると、フランク・ザッパは地位も名声もありながらも、人が入り込めるような隙間を兼ね備えたような姿勢こそが、多くの人々から愛される所以であると結論付けています。
