BOCのTシャツは縁があって多くのパターンを仕入れてこれたバンドの一つで、古着の仕入れというのは、もちろん価格を付けて営業する商売が前提ですが、投機の面もあるというところが魅力的な部分でもあるかな、と考えます。
自分がヴィンテージロックTの仕入れに力を入れていた頃はもう認知もあり、投機というよりは安価で仕入れることができれば確実に高値で売れるというのがありましたから、そこに不確実性があまりない事から、投機と言うと少し違う気がしています。
過去に勤めていたお店のオーナーは501XXの仕入れを国内でも早い段階で行っていた先駆者の一人で、色々なお話を伺いましたが、この話でいくと、経営者というより投資家として成功したんだな、と今では思います。
このような規模の投機はなかなか難しいものがありますが、古着の買い付けに関してはセンスと先見の明が功を奏することもあることから、小さな投機を繰り返し行ってきてるんだな、と自分の行動を振り返るところです。
BOC T-shirts are one of the bands that I’ve been fortunate enough to purchase many patterns from. Of course, purchasing vintage clothing is a price-based business, but I think the speculative aspect is also an attractive part of it.
When I was buying vintage Rock T’s, the market was already recognized, so it wasn’t speculation, but rather, if you could buy it at a low price, you could sell it at a high price.
The owner of the store I worked at in the past was one of the pioneers in stocking 501XX in Japan at an early stage, and I heard many stories about him.
It is difficult to speculate on such a scale, but when it comes to buying second-hand clothes, one’s sense and foresight can pay off, and I look back on my actions as having repeatedly made small speculations.
