WebヴィンテージTシャツ辞典を構築するにあたり、これまで収集してきたTシャツを見返すとミュージックTが圧倒的な数を占めていため、ミュージックTをどのように扱うか考えていました。
オンラインショップ運営時は音楽のジャンルで分けていましたが、ジャンルというのは進化していて、ジャンルは人によっても、当人達にとっても解釈が変わってきますから、ジャンル分けはしないことは決めていました。
たどり着いた展開方法は至ってシンプルで、名前のアルファベット順。名前は唯一無二であり、普遍的なものです。
(Jefferson starship→Starshipのような例外もありますが。)
何故このような話をしているかというと、アルファベット順にした時、「Z」の名前のグループ、個人が全く居ないという事実に気が付き、「ZZ TOP」以来の「Z」のグループだ！と一人でテンションが上がったからでした。
When I started to build the Web Vintage T-Shirt Dictionary, I was thinking about how to handle music t-shirts, because music t-shirts make up an overwhelming number of the t-shirts I have collected so far.
When I was running the online store, I used to divide them by music genre, but I decided not to divide them into genres because genres are evolving and people interpret genres differently.
The way I arrived at this was quite simple: alphabetical order of names. Names are unique and universal.
(There are exceptions, such as Jefferson starship -> Starship.)
The reason I’m telling you this is that when I went through the alphabetical order, I noticed that there were no groups or individuals with the name “Z” at all. I was so excited.
