ニュー・オーダーとの出会いはアルバイトをしていた衣料小売店でget readyが流れていたのを聴いた時でした。
今まで聴いたことの無い様なメロディ、音の構成に心を強烈に貫かれ、間もなく彼らのファンとなりました。
ニュー・オーダーと言えばBlue MondayやRegret辺りが有名で、自分はget readyから入ったので、どちらかと言えば後期派なのですが、特徴的なのはギターの様にメロディアスなベースラインと、ニュー・オーダーだな、と認識をしてしまうシンセサイザーのメロディ構成だと思っていて、get readyやWaiting for the Sirens’ Call辺りは特に今でも好んで聴いています。
このTシャツは1989年発表のテクニーク(Technique)からのデザインの当時の物で、「お洒落」の一言で片付けても良いくらい洗練されたデザイン。
手元にやってきたのは黄色ボディですが、白ボディも見たことあって、白ボディはこのプリントがまたよく映えていて、個人的には今でも探している一枚です。
My first encounter with New Order was when I heard “get ready” playing at the clothing retail store where I was working part-time.
I was struck by the melody and the structure of the sound, which I had never heard before, and soon became a fan of theirs.
New Order is famous for Blue Monday and Regret, and I started with get ready, so I’m more of a late-period fan, but I think what makes them unique is the melodic bassline that sounds like a guitar and the synthesizer melodies that make you recognize them as New Order.
I still like to listen to “get ready” and “Waiting for the Sirens’ Call” in particular.This t-shirt was designed by Technique, released in 1989, and the design is so sophisticated that it can be described as “stylish”.
I’ve seen the yellow body, but I’ve also seen the white body, and the print looks great on the white body, so I’m personally still looking for one.
