このTシャツもレアピースであるファットというバンドの1976年リリースのFootlooseという作品からのTシャツですが、、やってしまいました、当時の自分。
販売時にリサーチしてはいましたが、今ほどの検索力がなく、FATで出てきたのはNOFXやRancidが所属するFAT Recordsというレーベルがありまして、恐らくそれのデザインのTシャツではないかと推測しています、みたいなことを書いてしまった記憶があるんですね。
推測間違いしたこと自体がもう記録に残って無いのですが、久々にこのTシャツの画像を見た時に「懐かしい、FAT RecordsのTシャツだったっけな？」というのがファーストインプレッションだったので、恐らく誤った推測をしていたかなと思いまして、その表記をしていたことが濃厚なので、この場を借りて、当時誤推測をしていたと思われることをお詫び申し上げます。
何故このようなエラーが起きたかと言うと、リサーチ不足もそうですが、前述したFAT Recordsの記憶がこのTシャツより前に強く残っていたからですね。
90年代は音楽的には自分の人生のど真ん中で、かつパンクロックやメロコアの全盛期で、ハイスタのPozza of Deathはもちろんのこと、色んなレコードレーベルの名を耳にしてきました。
その記憶より「FAT＝レコードレーベル」という印象だけが独り歩きした結果のエラーであったと考察します。
車の免許の教習で習った「物陰から人は出てこないだろう」ではなく、「物陰から人は出てくるかもしれない」ということを今では常に自戒の念としていて、このようなエラーが起きないように少しでも違和感がある時は確証を得るまでリサーチしてから発信するということを心掛けています。
This t-shirt is also from a rare piece of work called Footloose, released in 1976 by a band called FAT, but I did it.
I did some research when I was selling it, but I wasn’t as good at searching as I am now, and I remember writing that there was a label called FAT Records to which NOFX and Rancid belonged, and I guessed that this was a T-shirt designed by them. I remember writing something like that.
The fact that I guessed wrong is no longer in my record, but when I saw the image of this T-shirt after a long time, my first impression was “I miss it, was it a FAT Records T-shirt? I took this opportunity to apologize for what I thought was a wrong guess at the time, as it is very likely that I had made that notation.
The reason why I made such an error is because of my lack of research, but also because my memory of the aforementioned FAT Records was strong before this T-shirt.
The 90’s was the middle of my life musically, and it was also the heyday of punk rock and melocore, and I had heard the names of many record labels, not to mention Heista’s Pozza of Death.
I believe that the error was the result of the impression that “FAT = record label” that I had from those memories.
