カンサスは音楽的な縁はなかったものの、ヴィンテージミュージックTはデザインの豊富さと流通の多さから出会う機会が多かったバンドの一つです。
音楽的な縁が無かったため、楽曲についてのエピソードを持ち合わせてないですが、神秘的で時には近未来を彷彿とさせるデザインに惹かれ、何パターンものデザインのツアーTを仕入れていました。
カンサスという名前は日本人が聞くとバンド名っぽいですが、アメリカのカンザス州がありますから、ほぼほぼ地名ってことなので、よくよく考えると日本人バンドが神奈川県とか埼玉県というようなバンド名で活動してるのと同じ感覚なのか？と思ったりもしました。
自分もバンドをやっていますが、バンド名がまともに決まった経験が無くて、それは恐らくバンドメンバーでかしこまる機会が無いから、バンド名を決めようとなった時に必ず脱線してふざけ出してグダグタになって、もう名前とかよくね？ってなるんですね。
とりあえず今やってるバンドは長い目でやっていきたいので、いつの日か表舞台に立つときを想定して、真面目に考えなくては、と思うところです。
Kansas was one of those bands that I had no musical connection with, but had a lot of opportunities to encounter vintage music T’s because of the wide variety of designs and distribution.
Since I had no musical connection with them, I don’t have any episodes about their music, but I was attracted to their mysterious and sometimes futuristic designs, and I stocked up on tour T’s with several designs.
The name “Kansas” sounds like a band name when Japanese people hear it, but since there is a collection of Kansas in the U.S., it is almost a place name. I also wondered if it was the same as Japanese bands playing in Kanagawa or Saitama Prefecture.
I’m also in a band, but I’ve never had the experience of deciding on a proper band name, probably because I’ve never had the opportunity to be so formal with my band members. And then it’s like, “What’s with the name?
At any rate, I’d like to keep the band I’m in for a long time, so I think I need to think seriously about it in anticipation of one day being on the stage.
